I’m James Stevens. I’m English, married to an Italian with two young children. I grew up in the UK but have lived in Belgium, France and Poland as well. I am a lesser spotted Brit politically with a left-of-centre, republican and Euro-federalist view of the world. After 8 years working in government relations, public affairs and communications at Fleishman-Hillard in our Brussels (EU) office I took an assignment with our D.C. team as of May 2010.

This blog is about my reflections on politics, public affairs, policy and of course life inside the jungle of the D.C. Beltway from the perspective of a Brussels  Bubble ‘native’. Will D.C. live up to expectations, will anyone care that I know far too much about obscure chemicals policies and comitology processes? We shall see.

All views expressed are of course personal and do not reflect the views of Fleishman-Hillard or its clients.
